Speaker Training
Half Day/ Full Day Training
Get noticed in your career – become a standout presenter. Beat the nerves and learn the techniques that work.
Workshop Outline
It doesn’t matter what line of work you do or what your situation in life is.
At some stage you may be asked to present to others. If this is in the workplace, all eyes will be on you and how you handle the task can impact your career.
Why would anyone leave this to chance? Why would anyone not be proactive and be ready in advance?
Imagine if you could be the surprise package and wow your audience – whether that be through increased confidence in presenting or simply calling on the techniques that work and avoiding those techniques which don’t work.
Simple things like how you approach the speaking area, how you hold yourself, where you put your hands while presenting, how to style your AV slides – these are all things which make a huge difference to how others perceive you.
Left to your own resources, unfortunately you are likely to fall into the common traps and cliched actions you have seen others do.
Ask yourself if you know the answers to these important points:
- Do I know the two best and simplest techniques for controlling nerves (A clue – it’s got nothing to do with breathing, self-actualization or looking over the head of your audience)
- The most important technique for your audience to remember your message or content?
- Simple techniques to assist with impromptu speaking (speaking ‘off the cuff’)
- How to handle a presentation with technical content
- How to use visual aids, different types of microphones (lectern, lapel & handheld) and interact with the lectern
- How to effectively handle Q&A segments
- Techniques for when things (especially technology) go wrong
- Habits that distract your audience.
Believe me, I can remember the feeling of terror all those years ago when asked to deliver a presentation in front of work colleagues or social environments. But now I know the power of confidence and excitement at the opportunity of presenting to an audience. Learning the techniques for confident communication and presentation has changed my life. From being super nervous in front of audiences to winning many public speaking awards over more than 20 years. Then being able to take those skills out to the world with confidence is an incredible feeling. I want others to feel that same level of empowerment.
